About AgriConnect Bauchi
The AgriConnect Bauchi Project is an innovative, community-driven initiative designed to transform the livelihoods of farmers in Bauchi Local Government by equipping them with essential digital literacy skills, smartphones, and hands-on training to improve agricultural productivity, market access, and economic resilience. Rooted in the reality that many rural farmers have never used the internet and lack access to technology, the project aims to close the digital gap and strengthen farming communities through practical, relevant, and easy-to-use digital tools. By leveraging the generous support of 48percent.org, AgriConnect Bauchi brings technology directly to rural fields—empowering farmers to access online resources, diagnose crop diseases using digital tools, explore market opportunities, communicate more effectively, and participate fully in the digital economy.
The project recognizes that modern agriculture now depends heavily on information—weather updates, market prices, pest alerts, improved practices, and peer networks. Without digital literacy, farmers are left behind. AgriConnect Bauchi therefore provides structured training on smartphone usage, internet navigation, Google Lens for disease detection, and digital platforms that support agriculture. It bridges long-standing gaps between tradition and technology, enabling farmers who have worked the land for decades to leverage the power of digital tools, increase yields, reduce losses, and access fairer markets. The initiative is not only improving farming practices—it is reshaping confidence, boosting independence, and strengthening rural economies.
Ultimately, AgriConnect Bauchi is more than a digital training program; it is a pathway to sustainable livelihoods, improved income, and community empowerment across Bauchi State.
