About Girls in ICT Mangu Event
Welcome to the Girls in ICT event in Mangu LGA of Plateau State, Nigeria! Our goal is to inspire and empower young girls to pursue careers in information and communication technology (ICT) and contribute to the development of Nigeria's digital economy.
The Girls in ICT event is a one-day program that will bring together girls from different schools and backgrounds to learn about the exciting opportunities available in the ICT industry. Through engaging activities, informative talks, and hands-on workshops, participants will gain practical skills and insights into the world of ICT and how it can shape their future.
OBJECTIVES:
- To increase awareness among girls of the opportunities available in ICT.
- To provide girls with role models and mentors in the ICT field.
- To encourage girls to pursue education and training in ICT.
- To create a supportive community of girls interested in ICT.
The Girls in ICT event will include a range of activities designed to achieve the above objectives. They include:
- Keynote speeches by women leaders in the ICT industry, who will share their experiences and insights on career paths in ICT;
- Interactive workshops and activities, where girls will have the opportunity to learn new ICT skills and explore different areas of the industry;
- Hands on activities where the girls will be required to build line following Robots;
- Career fairs where girls can meet with representatives from companies and organizations in the ICT field and learn about internship and job opportunities.
